Count topics and language versions separately
If Home, About, Services, Work and Contact each have Chinese and English versions, you have five topics and ten page versions to prepare. This is a content planning method; the quote should explain how pages and languages are priced. Our HK$5,000 five-page plan includes one language. Additional languages require a separate quote.
Build a bilingual content checklist
| Content | What to check |
|---|---|
| Service names and headings | Use language customers understand and consistent terms for the same service. |
| Prices and delivery conditions | Amounts, currency, inclusions and the start of the delivery period must agree. |
| Address and contact details | Verify the English address, WhatsApp number and email. |
| Enquiry flow | Translate fields, errors, buttons, privacy information and preset messages. |
| Images and documents | Check embedded text, captions and downloadable files. |
Translate the meaning and preserve the conditions
Natural English does not need to follow Chinese word for word, but the service promise must remain accurate. If the Chinese copy says delivery starts after content, assets and the design direction are confirmed, the English version must retain that condition. Have someone familiar with the business check prices, limitations and exceptions. Keep a short glossary for future updates.
Keep visitors on the same topic when switching
Choosing English on the Chinese pricing page should take visitors to English pricing. Provide a visible language choice and test it on mobile. English headings and buttons may wrap differently, so review the layout in both languages.
Give each language version an accessible URL and connect corresponding pages with hreflang. Use full URLs, include the page itself and make the references reciprocal. This helps search systems understand the relationship between versions. See Google's guidance on localized pages.
Assign responsibility for updates
- Identify the approved source for each change.
- Update prices and conditions in both languages within the same task.
- Track translation, review and publication status.
- Test both enquiry flows and WhatsApp messages before publishing.
- Check that internal links stay in the chosen language.
A simple update log: page name, requested change, Chinese reviewer, English reviewer and publication date. Even a small site benefits from a clear record of which versions are ready.
Decide which services and pages need both languages, then plan the translation and build budget. Explore our business website service and package scope, or send us your bilingual page list for a tailored quote.
